Way down in the Hole

May 7, 2009

Guess what! They’re making season 6 of The Wire and they asked me to make a theme tune:

Way Down in the Hole (Tom Waits cover)

Not really, of course. It’s just a bit of fun.

Korgondozia

December 27, 2008

I’ve got a Korg simulator on my Nintendo DS. My wife got it for me as a surprise. It can make any sound. Like the sound of birds flying or children crying or fairies dying.

It’s dead good. It means I can do hard industrial rock and roll songs:

And dub:

And I still don’t know what all the knobs mean!

Welcome

December 6, 2008

Hello and welcome to Protoculture.

This blog is an extension of my homepage: www.richardpeel.com, and will provide an all-purpose, convenient way for me to post content online. Expect movie reviews; cartoons; news; plugs; random ephemera and, of course, the unexpected. Also expect long and needlessly sesquipedalian sentences, until your humble author learns more about writing style.

I’ll kick off with my pop video, kindly made by Robb Carswell for my recent pop-release: Advice to Recent Graduates.
